Rediscovering a series of photos he took 35 years ago in the northern neighborhoods of Marseille at the request of a young woman who was looking for part of her family’s history, photographer Yves Jeanmougin puts together the puzzle of his journey and takes us, in the company of his friends, photographers, cartoonists and writers, on a journey of discovery of the other story of these neighborhoods, the one that belongs to the families who have settled there: stories of life, exile, solidarity, marriages and dramas against a backdrop of racism, fragments of a past that is sometimes lost, but that the transmitters of memory bring back to life through their images, drawings, texts and writings.
